“There is underwear so beautiful that it should be in lights.” One-of-a-kind lamps that are true conversation pieces, crafted from vintage lingerie – bustiers, bathing suits, and nighties garnished with flowers and beaded trim. She also invites you to send in your underwear for your own custom lamp.

These small, delicate pieces look like something a fine jeweler would put in a shop window, until you realize the stones are tiny coffins. Post and dangling earrings, charm bracelets, lovely rosary-style pendants, rings, body jewelry, and men’s designs.

This week’s Oddity comes from Legacy of the Cauldron, an online magickal boutique that features one-of-a-kind pieces from pagan artists and designers in their catalog. This “Cleo Anisette” box from Lisa Steinke was created for “The Enlightenment Series” as “The Faerie of Unconditional Love,” and there are only 25 in existence. The jewel-covered, handpainted box is a gorgeous enough gift on its own, but there’s more: inside is a faerie wand, a candle, rose quartz earrings, gemstones, a chakra aromatherapy blend, faerie dust, and a poem. An incredibly sweet present, especially for those of us who have childhood memories of flowery toy-store music/jewelry boxes that sprouted tiny ballerinas when you opened them.

Fabulously creative hair ornaments from an ex-environmental safety engineer who started making wedding veils, then got a lot of requests for spooky headpieces: bat-trimmed pillbox hats, cyber crowns made from industrial tubing, classic mourning veils, Mardi Gras headdresses, shredded hair poufs, China doll fan barrettes and ornaments inspired by geisha hairstyling, anime pony puffs, flowering hair sticks, lots and lots of great designs. She also does glass spiderwebbed holiday plates and candle lanterns, dark Christmas ornaments, and goth Pez keychains.

The clothing is a mix of styles: angel-wing lingerie sets, velvet bellsleeved tops and pixie skirts, a little corsetry, a little PVC, and some shredded and safetypinned pieces. Other merch: cute little corset and coffin bags(and backpacks!), “Bad Taste Bears,” chalices and flasks, incense, tights, T-shirts, coffin wallets, hair dye, and New Rock boots.

If you’re looking for a conversation piece to brighten up your boudoir, meet “Olivia.” She’s one of a gallery of lamps crafted from vintage lingerie, found in antique stores and thrift shops by artist Kelly of Tramp Lamps, whose studio has gone from modest paintings into “a dangling bordello of unmentionables.” Each one-of-a-kind piece is lovingly given a name, and snazzed up with sparkling trimmings. Here we have a vintage yellow bathing suit, decorated with handmade orange silk flowers and antique orange mardi gras beads. Oh, and she’s 25 watts.
