Gallery Serpentine PVC bustle skirt

The practice of doing a historical style over in a modern fabric never ceases to produce amazing designs. Here’s a Victorian skirt from Australian corsetmakers Gallery Serpentine where black PVC – usually stretched across the body for skintight styles – is draped in ruffled layers as if it were a luxurious velvet or satin. The pattern is slender-styled, “popular around 1880 at a time when rigid bustles were unfashionable.” A fabulous use of fetish fabric if your style of dress is on the modest side!
