Laku is a San Fran boutique located in the Mission District, down the street from Chateau Bizarre and a place we’ve walked past many a time on our way to brunch at Boogaloo’s. So we’ve seen this place in person, and it’s really cute, worktable in the back and all. Designer Yaeko Yamashita’s style is cobbling together little bits of colorful luxury fabrics into no-two-are-alike floppy hats, pillows, purses, and baby clothes, and she has a irresistible line of women’s slippers that ren faire folks and fairy talers will adore. Made from Thai silk, French lace, and whatever else she feels like, pairs are available in limited editions on her website.

Wedding gowns from Montreal, which bear a distinct medieval influence and are perfect for brides who want their traditional white tarted up with bell sleeves, delicate capes, and Celtic knotwork. Beautiful! Everything is made custom, so non-bridal options are available if you’re just looking to knock them dead at the ren faire.
