Masquerade Life Casting alternative family portraitsOne of the industries that that Chateau has noticed exploding in the past year is subcultural kids’ clothing and merchandise for nontraditional families. Going by the boom in sites that carry rockabilly bibs or batty lap tees, there is a real hunger in the punk, pagan, metal, and gothic communities for domesticity…just redefined, as evidenced by the recurring cries of “I don’t want my kid dressed up as a pink bunny, dammit!” Moving from the closet to the living room, here’s an intimate take on the ubiquitous group shot over the mantelpiece – a lifecasting of your family’s joined hands. Ann Lyneah Curtis of Masquerade Life Casting is the artist who created the above piece, and has her event schedule posted if you’d like to schedule a private sitting.
