Run by New Orleans artist Leilah Wendell, The Azrael Project has been around since 1979 and is a gallery devoted to the Angel of Death. This site features a wealth of information and imagery, with stunning original art for sale and a catalog of gracefully macabre offerings: Santisima Muerte statues, prayer boxes, graveyard-inspired decor, memento mori cameo necklaces and other Victorian mourning jewelry, collage cards, handcrafted Grim Reaper lamps, and of course, Leilah’s unique writings on the subject.
