The Automata Shop was discovered by the Chateau whilst ambling through San Francisco’s Exploratorium one day, and while they were an artful presentation of physics to museum sciencegoers, to us they’re neato moveable sculptures that we couldn’t resist playing with. Their site presents the actual works, less expensive models, and bargain-basement cardboard kits for those painfully budget-conscious but still wanting to get in on the fun. They also have a thing for Anubis, a recurring character, who in this piece is “a cowboy undertaker rehearsing his getaway on a camel simulator.”
