A very Smurf-heavy assortment of oft-quoted movies, TV shows, pixellated video games, and Saturday morning cartoons from the Reagan decade, where the graphics are presented both in original beloved form and in some cases, given some freshening for a post-internet sensibility. Also quite a bit of non 80’s gear (“More cowbell!”) and costuming for those who want to take it all to the roleplaying level.
A wiggery with recommendations for cosplay – pointed bangs, spiked unnatural hues, Goldilocks curls, butt-length locks, the fun stuff – and plenty of other more normalish offerings, presented with and without bangs. Also boots and heels from Demonia and Pleaser.
Dark headpieces and jewelry made with some neato beaded effects: crystal-strung wire twisted into glittering cobwebs, or illusioned transparent to simulate dewdrops caught in a spider’s nest, with the spiders themselves springing up alongside sparkling flowers in a morbid little garden. Lots of iridescent black to be found here, and the collections are often themed with necklaces, bracelets, earrings, barrettes, and crowns made to match. And don’t miss all the burlesque/rockabilly/old-school goth going on in the one-off section.
Early 80’s glowing fantasy-art decor. Psychedelic posters, fluorescent paint for the DIYers, barware, beaded curtains, furniture, trippy lockboxes, all kinds of lighting with bubbles, fog, and mirrorball kits to further enhance the mood. The fashionables include band patches, cosmetics, and UV and body jewelry, and there are loads of silly toys to goof around with in the dark, including chess sets for those who desire to be a bit more highbrow within all of this.
A catalog that carcrashes together 80’s band tees and retro dresses, psychobilly hair roses and and pinstriped fedoras, polkadotted bikinis and skater jeans. Some brands are familiar, others more obscure: Liquor Brand, Steady, Paper Doll, Switchblade Stiletto, Iron Fist, Hairy Scary, Lucky 13, Sourpuss, Macabre, Magick Outlaw, CyberOptix, Hell’s Belles, lots more.
A huge array of real-deal Victorian and Edwardian finds, page after page of gowns from the 1880’s through the early 1900’s with the occasional teaparty hat or capelet making an appearance. The wedding dresses include some unusual headpieces – beaded art deco tiaras! – and there are also things from the 20’s through the 90’s, lingerie, children’s formal dressup, shoes, chatelaines and pocket watches, awesome flapper purses, and some ballgowned dolls.
