Nothing more profound to post than yet another cat pic and general good cheer that you all have a fun night. And a fabulous oncoming decade.
Back on Monday!
First of all, I just finished the annual link cleanout of all the shops in our directory. My eyeballs are fizzing, but all the doorway pages and dead domains are cleared out for this year.
Second, we’ve got a new tag: crowdsourced. This is for all the catalogs that are composed of auctions, individuals setting up a cluster of stores under one domain, online flea markets, and more recently, audience participation. It’s right beneath Etsy Highlights.
And speaking of which, this week’s theme is separates that dip into vintage style. No viscera anywhere in sight this week.
A batty little coffin decorates a bright red wiggle skirt, which engages in a symbiotic relationship of head-turning contrast with those fishnet hose. From Zombie Kitten Originals.
Offices wouldn’t be nearly so depressing to work in if everybody dressed like this. From Annie Briggs, who has a lot more expertly clashy jackets in her shop.
Moving into a more Seventies state of mind, here we have a Stevie Nicksish skirt-or-dress confection that’s been partially concocted out of formal gown scraps. From the mother-daughter team of SewSomer.
A very wintery skirt in whirling plaid, boosted by coordinating layers. From Xiaolizi.
Rockabilly is a fashion genre that just adores a good print, such as the glimmer and smack of a busy bowling alley. From Vertigo Vintage and Retro.
Medieval accessorization in the form of one-of-a-kind dainty little purses whipped up out of tapestries, crystals, and little found bits, frequently crafted with back pockets for cellphone storage. Flowers are clustered together for garlands and roundels, and there are tiaras, circlets, and crowns for twinklier headpieces. The jewelry is full of gemstones and pagan symbolism, the stationery is all fantasy-warrior-witchy chicks, and commissions are welcome, especially for bridal goodies.
It’s Tuesday, which means digging around YouTube for some choice rockstar obscurities, but it’s also the week that contains New Year’s and thus kind of slow.
A perfect time to break out the Curt Wild.
This is one of the best scenes in the history of cinema, period. The body sparkle! The shock treatment flashbacks! Lighting the stage on fire and stage-diving into a very, very hostile audience! Jonathan Rhys-Meyers looking all cute and pining! The glorious NSFWness! Happy Tuesday!
A small collection of stainless steel chokers and bracelets composed of various weaves. Classic linked rings are joined by spiral twists and Byzantine knots, with each option available for both neck and wrist for those who like their chainmail matchy-matchy.
Lingerie that balances practicality with seduction, offering lacy bedroom froof alongside everyday undies and shapewear. Arianne, Fantasie, Freya, Carnival, Chantelle, and others share catalog space with the likes of Hanes and Spanx and the low-rise solutions of Miss Oops. Full-figured and maternity designs, sports bras, spiffy bra straps, camis, body tape to make sure plunging necklines stay in place, washing bags, all the essentials plus a fun-sounding product called Cleavage Cupcakes.
