Etsy Highlights: Zombie Art

12.9.2009 @ 6:01 pm UTC by lilah wild

This week, a trawl through the sickly green moaning meadows of indieland. Zombie fantasy nymphs, zombie surrealism, zombie statements about mindless consumerism, zombie music boxes…this search brought up so much good stuff that the Etsy Highlights will be going undead for the next week or two. Hang on to your heads, readers!

LinRanae zombie bride artFirst up, a gentle, light-filled bridal portrait. Is she hesitant towards imminent matrimony? Is she overcome with emotion about the great love of her life? Does she just want a live, wriggling snack? From Lindsey Cormier Art.
Nik Scarlett zombie monster artThis is “Eck,” an original painting and one of a series that includes “Blargh,” “Bleck,” and “Argh.” Bold, energetic, the kind of skateboard-deck cartoon insanity that also does well as a living-room canvas. From Nik Scarlett.
Phil Liker zombie horror artBlack and white subdues what is surely painful, and the focus on fiery, bleeding extremities taunts the viewer with speculations on what the artist has left unseen. From Phillip Hilliker.
Andrea Kett zombie glamour artA sendup of glittery greeting cards featuring fashionably sassy ladies-about-town – note the disembodied feet in the bunny slippers. It’s a print, but a very cute get-well present for a morbidly glamorous friend. From Andrea Kett, “for collectors of superior smut!”
Angel Of Odd zombie brains artThe essence of minimalism: a grasping hand, a bleeding brain. No more need be said, especially when this little conflict unfolds before such a refined backdrop. From Angel of Odd.
