A vote-on-the-best-graphic catalog where the usual call for t-shirt submissions gets the rare treatment of shoe design. It’s mostly skate-style canvas slip-ons and a couple of thick-soled low-tops for now – disappointingly, the high-tops section is empty at the time of this review – but good for tastes that run towards the spacey and scientific, splashed with a little pop art. And if you *must* submit a tee image, they do those, too.

The retail arm of a creative community for art/design/video.music/writing-minded people. Most of the site is devoted to social networking through bands and coffee shops and art galleries and such, but they do have some tees, tanks, longsleever, and polo dresses decorated with art of the street-pop variety: grenade brains, bright sprouts of dandelions, a lone lightning bolt striking from a crowd of clouds, a great place to pick up a hoodie that frames the cleavage in monkey wrenches.

A crowdsourced catalog of arty tees, full of graffiti-surf-skate imagery with dedicated pages for the skulls and guns. It’s a pretty mixed bag, the elegant and evil and insane printed on organic bamboo and limited to runs of 200 each. It’s almost all white backgrounds for now – other colors, hopefully black among them, are on the way.

A gigantic t-shirt marketplace that runs on design submissions, boasting over 67,000 designs in just the men’s section at the time of this writing. It’s a storefront site that offers the crucial features of category browsing and a search box for flying across all the shops in pursuit of whatever you’re looking for, be it men’s, women’s, or kids’ designs, and there are also accessories of mittens, aprons, hats, messenger bags, and the like.

“Your house for indie fashion.” Clothing, jewelry, and accessories for men, women, and kids from a huge array of small designers, much of them working in vintage textiles for one-of-a-kind finds or remixed creations. A fabulous catalog that includes both glossy gowns and art silk thongs along with sleek hiphuggers and recycled-sweater corset tops. Thanks, Baily Rose!

The infamous participatory t-shirt webshop where artists submit their ideas and the catalog is determined by the votes of the customer populace. Which means the eventual stock is all over the place design-wise, with a healthy helping of indie weird, and there’s always more parading down the pike. And the shirts themselves are loud, bold, and colorful, with the graphics splashed huge across the chest. Updated frequently!
