Romantic clothiers Gypsy Moon are currently stocking a very clever little accessory by Parisian designer Delphine Murat: pretty little half-socks that hide within plain, ordinary shoes to wind their ribbons ballet-style around the ankles. A great way to upgrade comfy practical flats and unadorned heels into dressier outfits (while avoiding the need to buy yet another new pair of shoes), the socks come in shiny and lacy options.

Whipped up out of tree bark, seashells, and dried leaves, the dollhouses over at kids’ toyshop Blueberry Forest kick the pixie dust out of anything plastic that markets itself as “enchanting.” Each one is made one-of-a-kind, and outfitted with acorn lanterns, teeny-weeny hammocks, walnut cradles, bird’s nests, twig balconies, and all sorts of other delicate surprises.

Brocade is one of those fabrics that tends to get doled out only for the poshest of getups. It’s a trusted ingredient in corsetry of the opera-box flavor, often whittled down to fancy chokers for the aristocratic airs to be savored in smaller bites (and softer whallops to the pocketbook.) It’s rare to see it surface on footwear within an affordable price point, even more rare to behold it within the realm of an alt brand. Inamagura, stocked by Voodoo Dolly, has decided to do something about that – glamming up a classic Victorian boot in plum and black, crossing the front laces with rhinestone-encrusted buckles and detailing the toes and heels with old-world perforation. A good choice for those nights when you’d prefer the elegant lacing to take place on your feet, not your midsection.

Chainmail is not a substance typically associated with the high futuristic gloss of cyber. However, Mekanikal Angel have eyed up its possibilities, and found it fit to replace curtains of the usual tubular plastic with aluminum weaves. Their “Scale Fallz” go one step further by pushing everything into the realm of the organic, draping the head in locks of reptilian armor. It’s even better for customizable pops of color to mock the camouflage of a tough little animal hide.
