A gathering of undergarments from the mid-century and thereabouts, each given a good detailed description. Bullet bras and lacy longlines, full-coverage panties, fluttery full slips, girdles, flowing nightgowns and robes, even some finds for the dudes in boxers and undershirts. This merchant also has an eye for insanely cute half-aprons.

An intriguing smash of rockabilly against playa, embracing both the clean lines of workshirts and the tatters of patchwork, sprinkled liberally with insects. Buttondowns are made for men and women and sport anarchic splats of fabric on the back, while the skirts flaunted winged creatures on peekaboo pleats or swoop into fae asymmetricality. Bugged-out bibs and bags and brooches, ragged cuffs and headbands and ties, and double-pronged keys provide plenty of unusual accessorization. Thanks, Sara!

A British accessory emporium specializing in bits of handmade, carefully curated, modernized yesteryear from about eighteen or so indie designers. Funky retro kissclasp purses, flowered fascinators, pinup playing card makeup bags, tattered scarves made to be worn every which way, gold and silver jewelry that keeps the skulls understated – or crowns them with antlers. A good place to pick up fripperies that work double-duty with both vintage and contemporary stuff.

Pinup skivvies that balance between gingham sweet and satin evening-glove vampery. Most of it runs to seamed stockings and fantasy costumes with some rhumba panties thrown in, but where this catalog really shines is the very good selection of retro swimwear: halter-necked one-pieces and bikinis designed with boyleg cuts and ruching for a decidedly yesteryear look that’s also very fligure-flattering, available in zebra stripes, polka dots, cherries, Hawaiian florals, and straight-up solids.

This dance shoe supplier includes gear for lindy hopping in among the ballroom and salsa stuff. Strapped saddles, slingback peeptoe wedges, sharp little oxfords, plaid maryjanes, wild color in the men’s section, a good mix of stuff to swing the night away, many of them repro’d directly from the actual footwear of the forties and fifties. They also stock clothing from Remix Vintage, Stop Staring, Bettie Page, Steady, Vivien of Holloway, and others.

The name sounds like the transformation of beautiful old dresses into reconstructed creations, but not quite. The “vintage” here is in the use of 80’s and 90’s cartoon prints – the typical grist of rave-era phat pants – for corset tops and sweet little side-cinched swing dresses. My Little Pony, Space Invaders, Gremlins, Strawberry Shortcake, and the Nightmare Before Christmas are among the motifs, with some wanderings into tattoo flash, monster movies, and Alice in Wonderland. They don’t do custom, meaning it’s all dresses and bodices for now, but you’re welcome to get them in the print of your dreams – and if you don’t see it on the site, they’re happy to help you find it.

Retro fashion heavy on the wiggle, with a bit of swing and some contemporary designs as well. A great source for dramatic body-conscious silhouettes that play well with both the modern and yesteryear accessories offered in the handbag and jewelry sections. They also carry bath and body goods from Lollia, Tokyo Milk, and Dolce Mia, scented candles from Voluspa, oversized sunglasses, and mini hats for cocktail hour.
