Another vintage classic from Sesame Street. Pretty hilarious what used to blow our minds before OK Go, right? I still love the ram charging into the TV set at 0:43.

YouTube Tuesdays: Disco cookies for all!3.16.2010 @ 6:04 pm UTC by lilah wildThis month so far has been quite the marathon of vintage kids’ TV here at the Chateau, and as soon as we finished Into the Labyrinth last week, it was off to Sesame Street’s Old School DVDs. I’d been meaning to post a good representative classic here someday, like the two kittycats trashing the dollhouse, or the Rube Goldberg alphabet cartoon. But I completely forgot about this one, which came roaring back out of childhood memory on a cloud of Elton John glitter, prompting cries of “Babe! GET IN HERE! You GOTTA see this!!” This is one of those rare skits where the “not for the kids of today!” disclaimers might not be so ridiculous after all, because nobody really wants to come home and find their kid chowing down on speaker wire. Bonus clip: a duet between Johnny Cash and Oscar the Grouch. YouTube Tuesdays: Ewan McGregor channels Iggy Pop12.29.2009 @ 1:27 pm UTC by lilah wildIt’s Tuesday, which means digging around YouTube for some choice rockstar obscurities, but it’s also the week that contains New Year’s and thus kind of slow. This is one of the best scenes in the history of cinema, period. The body sparkle! The shock treatment flashbacks! Lighting the stage on fire and stage-diving into a very, very hostile audience! Jonathan Rhys-Meyers looking all cute and pining! The glorious NSFWness! Happy Tuesday!
